Charlotte Goodwin (duly sworn)
I am a nurse in this hospital and had the care of the deceased. On Monday the 7th September
about 3 to 4 am the deceased was visited by a man and he told me that he had stabbed him.
He had asked me before if he was in a dangerous condition. He volunteered that statement.
There was another man with him. They then left. The other man was not within hearing when
he said this. Other man was at the bedside of the deceased. I think I could recognise the man
who made the statement. I spoke to the deceased about his injury. He said he did not quite
know. He was so drunk that he had a knife in him but it was an accident. He died about 4
oclock the same morning shortly after the 2 men left.
