| My Lord, |
| With reference to the notice from the Colonial Land &
Emigration Commissioners of the 30th. ulto., publishing the
Regulations adopted by Her Majesty's Government on a proposed
Emigration of Chinese Labourers to the West Indies from the
British Settlements in the Straits of Malacca, we beg to apply
for your Lordships Licence to introduce four hundred emigrants
into British Guiana for our friends in that Colony. |
| As we are desirous of availing ourselves of the Overland Mail
for India to be made up here on the 4th. inst, we should be
greatly obliged by having the Licence to forward by that opportunity. |

| It would be an object for us to receive the Licence in time
to avail of the overland mail for India to be made up on the
4th instant. |
