Fees and wages
And in wages to John Benlase, bailiff of the same, to whom Cecelia duchess
of York has granted the office of bailiff of the manor of Berdesfield,
to have and occupy the said office himself or by sufficient deputy, for
which he shall answer to the same lady during her pleasure, perquisites
for the same office of 2d per day from the issues and profits of that
lordship at Easter and Michaelmas terms, by letters patent of the duchess
herself dated at London 3 November, the first year of king Edward, that
is the account for this fee for this time - 60s 8d.
