In 2016, as part of our programme of events to commemorate the centenary of the First World War, a group of students aged 16 to 19 joined us at the National Archives to create a stop-motion animation film telling the stories of those who experienced the Battle of the Somme, as detailed in the records within our collection. The film won a MEDEA award for User Generated Media and is an excellent resource for use in classrooms to tell the tales of the Somme.
