Sunday. Lieutenant & Quarter master J.E. Newton R.A.M.C. reported his arrival

 

Twenty-five Officers reported their arrival without previous official notification having been received. Director of Medical Services visited School for a short inspection & expressed his approval of everything

The new arrivals were marched to the Gas centre for the purpose of having gas helmets fitted & tested. On return the following lectures were given:

 

11am. Lecture by Commandant. Introductionary remarks and a lecture entitled: “The progress of a wounded man from the frontline to the base”

 

12 noon   Issue of steel helmets to all newly arrived officers

2.pm Work of |Field Ambulance by Lt Col Tyrrell D.S.O [Distinguished Service Order] .M.C  [Medical Corps]

3 pm Thomas’ Splint in the forward area
