Generation Z

Demographic overview

Gen Z are people who were born between 1997 and 2012 (9 – 24 years old) and as this generation covers both children and adults, their online behaviours will vary drastically. There will be distinct changes in how and where they engage with stories online.

The important thing to know is that this is the most digitally native of any generation. They don't have experience of a time before the internet or smart phones and their worlds online and offline are interconnected. Technology, content creation and sharing are a part of the language of this generation.

Tip: If you are looking to use a mix of content types, you should consider Digital Exhibitions, as well as looking at the Creative Inspiration Guide and thinking about how you can use multiple content types across a range of platforms.
