Roger Kershaw joined The National Archives in 1986 and is the Head of Strategic Operations & Volunteers in the Collections Expertise and Engagement department.

Roger has an MA in Archives and Records Management from University College London, and over 40 years’ experience in researching records at The National Archives and other archives. He has published six books and regularly appears at British genealogy fairs promoting the work of The National Archives. He has previously presented international papers on the subject of migration in the United States, Canada and Australia. He is also co-curator of the exhibition Great Escapes: Remarkable Second World War Captives.
