Collections and archives research
Collections research at The National Archives reflects the diversity of our collection. This spans ten centuries of history across every area of British law, history and government, including across the globe.
With expertise from the medieval period to the late 20th century, our researchers lead and partner with stakeholders in innovative, interdisciplinary research projects in a range of areas. These include environmental humanities, global and marginalised histories, and medical humanities.

Each year we host Talking Records, a collections research symposium that showcases internal and external research on a strategic theme. We also run a Global History seminar to promote the global nature of our records.
