That all Officers, Warrant Officers, N.C.O.’s [Non-commissioned Officers] and men who served or are serving in the 19th London Regiment, members of the late 17th North Middlesex V.R.C., shall be eligible for membership.

OBJECTS OF THE ASSOCIATION

  1. To maintain and promote fellowship and association between the members.
  1. To provide opportunities for the past and present members of the Regiment to meet for social and other purposes and to take any action calculated to further the interests of the Regiment and any persons connected therewith.
  1. To hold annually an Old Comrades Dinner.
  1. To maintain a Benevolent Fund for the assistance of deserving Old Comrades and dependents who are in needy circumstances

WHAT THE ASSOCIATION HAS DONE.

Benevolent Fund.

Members have received assistance, and wreaths have been sent to the Relatives of those Old Comrades whose deaths were reported to the Secretary.

Regimental Committee Fund.

Supplied Clothing, Boots and Financial Assistance to Past and Present Members of the 19th London Regiment, also to dependents of our late Comrades.

Christmas Parcel Fund.

Parcels of meat, Groceries, etc., have been given to Old Comrades, Parents and Widows of our late Comrades who have fallen on hard times.

The Children’s Party.

The Committee have invited over 400 Mothers and Children to the Tea and entertainment held at the Drill Hall in January of each year

THE HALF-YEARLY MAGAZINE- “MEMORIES”.

“Memories” was first published in 1920 with the idea of keeping all those interested in the 19th London Regiment in touch with one another. It has been notified all and sundry of the activities of our Association and has been a great help to the widows and relatives of our late comrades. It is fully illustrated with photographs taken in active service days, and the activities of the Present Battalion are also fully recorded.

The Committee feel that as a good number of members live some distance from Headquarters, they are perhaps unable to take an active interest in the Association, but the Magazine will keep them in touch with its welfare.

A free copy of each issue is sent to all members of the Association if their Subscriptions are paid up. Annual Subscription to Relatives and Friends 1/- [one shilling]. Back numbers can be obtained from the Secretary, price 4d [four pennies] each.

As the cost of producing “MEMORIES” is in excess of the price charged, donations to the Magazine Fund will be gratefully received.

RIFLE CLUB

The Rifle Club is very well supported by the Members and a good number of prizes, including replicas of the Cassel, Jerusalem and Roche Cups, are presented to the winners each year. The Miniature Range [shooting range] at Headquarters, is open to members every Thursday at 8 p.m.

ENTERTAINMENT, etc

Numerous Social and other functions are held, special facilities to Members attending the Dances. A programme of future events sent to all members.

ANNUAL DINNER

The Committee hope to see all Members at the Annual Dinner which takes place in November of each year.

For the Association to carry out the foregoing objects, the Committee need the support of every member who has served or is serving in the 19th London Regiment. You are therefore urgently requested to join the Association and help them to attain their object.

The meeting of Old Comrades takes place at 76 High Street, Camden Town, N.W.1. on Every Thursday at 8 p.m.
