A Day at the Seaside – Railway Map visual description

Poster featuring a map of the United Kingdom.

Red lines show the major railway lines. A thick red line starts in London and goes up through Bletchley, Northampton, Rugby, Lichfield, Crewe, Preston, Lancaster, Tebay, Penrith, and Carlisle, before splitting off into lines that go to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Aberdeen, and Inverness. At Rugby, this line also splits off to go to Birmingham, and at Crewe it splits off towards Manchester and Leeds.

Another thick line splits off at Crewe and goes to Chester, Bancor, and Holyhead, then across the water to Dublin, Greenore, and other stations in Northern Ireland and Ireland including Belfast, Larne, and Queenstown. Another line splits off at Chester towards Liverpool.

Many other smaller lines branch off into many other smaller stations.
