Material covers the history of The Abbey School from 1887 to date, although there are many gaps in the records. It is of particular interest to former pupils. Please note, Jane Austen was not a pupil; she attended a boarding school housed in/beside the Abbey Gateway in the 1780s - The Abbey School adopted the gateway for its crest in 1914
