Crisis management

Crisis management team

The Charity Archives Development Plan (CAD) steering group acts as a crisis management team for charity archives.

The team has developed a simple and sustainable process for managing charity archive at risk cases that feeds into other risk initiatives including the Records at Risk Group.

The team co-ordinates efforts to preserve charity archives in cases of closures, restructures, insolvencies, mergers, and other circumstances where charity records may be at risk. Working in this way enables a joined-up approach in which the team can share and maximise intelligence and deliver positive outcomes for charity archives at risk.

In line with the scope of the CAD plan, the Crisis Management Team for Charity Archives covers charity archives in public and private ownership in England and that are not covered by The National Archives’ other thematic engagement projects. We will seek to share intelligence, knowledge, and learning on charity archives at risk with colleagues in the home nations.
