  • John Cowper Powys (1872-1963), philosopher, lecturer, novelist, literary critic, and poet: letters to James Abell, covering Abell's writing, Powys' issues with hypochondria and agoraphobia, 'Weymouth Sands', 'Glastonbury Romance', 'Wolf Solent', 'A Philosophy of Solitude', and general discussions on writing and original thought c1916-1963 (EUL MS 486)
  • Nabih Al-Azmah (1886-1972), politician, and his brother Adil Al-Azmah (c1888-1952), lawyer and state official, who played a major role in the development of Arab nationalism in the Middle East: papers (mostly photocopies) incl photographs 1900-1999 (EUL MS 215 add. 1)
  • Cygnet Theatre, Exeter: collection of papers incl teaching, marketing, administrative and production records, with some earlier material rel to predecessors such as the Northcott Young Performers. Also incl papers rel to playwright Monica Shallis (d2006), teacher, writer, artist and composer who co-founded Cygnet Theatre (alongside Mary Evans) and was its Artistic Director c1980-2020 (EUL MS 489)
  • Uri Davis (b1943), Middle Eastern scholar: papers rel to the International Commission on Israel's invasion of Lebanon, 1982, incl material gathered as evidence for their report, 'Israel in Lebanon: The Report of the International Commission to enquire into reported violations of International Law by Israel during its invasion of the Lebanon' (1983).   • Ewart Morien Johns (1923-2013), painter, muralist, draughtsman and lecturer: papers incl material rel to his artistic and professional career and to the Exeter University Opera Group, of which he was a founding member, rel to stage productions in the Great Hall and the Northcott Theatre 1960s-1970s (EUL MS 497)
  • Leila Mantoura (1927-2000), Palestinian activist, humanitarian and company director: correspondence with her Israeli friend, Ruth Dayan (1917-2021), activist, humanitarian and arts company director; letters incl family news, as well as references to events in Palestine and Lebanon, prospects for peace, the Tewfik Canaan collection of amulets and folklore, Palestinian costumes, criticism of Abu Ammar [Yasser Arafat] and PLO policies, and the potential difficulties raised by their friendship within certain parts of the Arab and Israeli communities 1977-1995 (EUL MS 478 add. 1)
