The research we do at The National Archives reflects and supports our business plan, Archives for Everyone 2019–23, our Digital Strategy and our vision for the archive sector, Archives Unlocked.
We have developed the strategies and plans below to shape our research as an Independent Research Organisation and the ways we engage with academic and research communities.

- Our Academic Engagement and Research Roadmap (PDF, 0.15MB) is a strategic response to the recommendations of the Academic Scoping Study (PDF, 1.10MB) which was commissioned by DJS Research in 2015 to explore how we can develop our reputation and meet the changing needs of the research landscape. The roadmap details how we will reinvigorate our relationship with the academic community.
