Assignment: (i) John Conde of Newark, gent. (ii) Simeon Fincham of White Fryers, London, gent. (iii) Col. Sir Philipp Twisleton of Drax, co. York: for £44 to J.C. by Sir P.T., J.C. assigns to S.F. as trustee for Sir P.T.:-- castle and site of the castle of Newark (i.e. so far as the castle and site did encompass "with the graft and wall about it" and as it doth compass and extend, from and between the messuage or tenement in Newark now or late in the occupation of William Browne and the new wall lately made from Newark Trent Bridge up to the old wall as the same takes in the beast pen and beast yard in the occupation of John Martin; and so by the new wall lately made towards the highway called Castle Gate). Also the fishing under the castle from the Great Mill Close down the river; and the fishings of Winthorpe, Besthorpe and Clifton --: Recites 2 above; also that Sir P.T. is seized of the reversion of the premises and of the rents due from them under 2 above (i.e. 53s.4d. for the castle and site; £3 for the fishings under the castle; and 16s. for the fishings of Besthorpe) in right of the manor of Newark.
