Administrative / biographical background:

Bordesley (Charity) School, or Bordesley and Deritend School as established in 1825 and was supported by subscriptions and small fees. The building was sold and the school rebuilt on a new site in Trinity Terrace, Camp Hill, C. 1855 and became known as Bordesley Trinity School. There were apparently three departments for boys, girls and infants and in 1886 the Boys Department transferred to the Mission Hall, Miles Street. In 1910, the Board of Education condemned the girls and infants building and this was altered and repaired. The Mission Hall was given up in 1931 and the school was reorganised into a Junior and Infant School, becoming a controlled school in 1949. The school closed in 1971.
