Description:

The A G Williamson collection is composed of glass and film negatives, primarily featuring views of static LBSCR locomotives. Although there are original negatives, some are copies of photographs taken by Frank Burtt. (The Burtt collection is also held by the NRM). There are also photographs of Southern, LMS and LNER engines, including a small number of images of passing trains. A collection of lanternslides covers the history of railways in Britain, with copies of historic prints, works views of newly completed locomotives of the main operating companies, electric units, signalling and ferries.
