This collection covers railways in southern England, mainly the London area, and includes steam locomotives built for the Big Four, together with Standard engines, in British Railways service. The majority of these photographs show passing passenger and freight trains, but static locomotives also feature, together with diesels. A handwritten list of negatives is available giving details of engine number, date, and occasionally location. There are reference prints in the albums, although for the majority of images there are no negatives.
