The manor was one of the holdings constantly associated with Bretby: BCM/D/5/9. It was granted to Stephen de Segrave by Henry III after some devious dealing with the heiresses of Stephen de Beauchamp, and in the later Stephen's inquisition post mortem of 1325 it is described as £22 9s. 10½d. of rent, with another 37s. 8d. of rent at Linton: below.
