Ralph de Sudley had previously granted to Stephen (I) de Segrave that all the land which Stephen's father Gilbert and his ancestors had held of Ralph and his ancestors, at a rent of 5s. a year, should henceforth be held as a tenth of a fee and quit of rent. Richard de Brinklow granted to Stephen a rent of 11s. a year. [BL Harl. MS 4748, f. 6d.] The holding is not mentioned later.
