RAWTONSTALL.

 

DD/S/III/42. 14 July 1841. Covenant to build a fence wall of stone around a plot of land in Stansfield, being part of Rawtonstall Wood, & to keep the wall in repair. The Rev. James Armitage Rhodes of Horsforth Hall to John Savile Lumley Savile, Earl of Scarborough.' Above land had been released to 'Armitage-Rhodes on the same day as this covenant. (44)

Deed of grant of right for £80, to construct a tail goit or tunnel under land near Rawtonstall Wood in Rawtonstall & also assignment (to the Earl of Scarborough) for 10/- of rights of pre-emption to land lying on the SE of old Turnpike Road from Hebden Bridge to Todmorden within township of Stansfield which may be required by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Co.
