The diary includes an account of the first ascent of Mont Blanc by Dr Paccard with Jacques Balmat in 1786. Parts of the diary have been published by Mathews in Annals of Mont Blanc (1898), and an almost complete transcript was published in Dr Dubi's "Paccard wider Balmat" (1913).
