Administrative / biographical background:

The Cotswold Division was formed in 1974 and continued until the Thames Water Company was founded in 1989. It took on its duties from the Swindon Borough Council, the Cricklade and Wootton Bassett and Highworth Rural District Councils and the Cotswold Water Board based at Cirencester and other authorities in Oxfordshire.
