Formed in 1892 as Sans Street Mission Circuit to include Sans Street Chapel (C.Su32) and High Street East (C.Su24) and later Herrington Street (C.Su23) and Whitburn Street (C.Su39) were added. It was known as Sunderland Wesleyan Mission Circuit until 1932. In 1962 it was absorbed into Sunderland South Circuit.
