Before transfer to TWAS the registers were held centrally at the URC headquarters in London. The marriage registers were collected from Northumberland Record Office where they had been sent in error. Subjects:
  • St Andrew Independent Congregational Church, Wallsend
  • St Andrew Presbyterian Church, Wallsend
  • Heaton United Reformed Church
  • Wallsend, Northumberland
Administrative / biographical background:

The church was opened as an Independent Congregational Church in 1815, but became Presbyterian in 1823. Subsequently a new church was built in High Street West. Another new church, in Border Road, was opened in 1887. It became part of the United Reformed Church on its formation in 1972. The church closed on 28 June 1998 and most remaining members transferred to Heaton United Reformed Church.
