Administrative / biographical background:

St. Margaret's United Reformed Church began its life in 1939 as Cleadon Park Presbyterian Church.

 

A new church was built and opened as St. Margaret's Presbyterian Church in 1952. Funds from Laygate Presbyterian Church, South Shields, which had been disbanded in 1938, were used to fund the new St. Margaret's Church.
