Details of AMS25
Reference: AMS25
Title: Additional Manuscripts, Catalogue 25
Description:

Pride of place in the collection must be given to the manuscripts of music commissioned by Walter Hussey at Northampton, and later as Dean of Chichester Cathedral. The deposit includes manuscripts of Benjamin Britten, Gustav Holst and Lennox Berkeley. However the volume also includes a miscellaneous collection of proofs and trial pressings by James Guthrie at the Pear Tree Press; a fine series of scorebooks of Priory Park Cricket Club in Chichester; and some of Lindsay Flemings personal papers from the sale of his Library at Sothebys

As well as the usual title deeds, which include a group illustrating the development of the south-western quarter of the City of Chichester, there are papers of the Weslyan Chapel in Littlehampton and records of the St. Margaret Sisterhood at East Grinstead. The records range in date from a deed of property in Horsted Keynes in 1622 (Add Mss 19888) to a letter from Graham Sutherland in 1978 (Add Mss 19950)
