By JOHN ASHBORNHAM to CHRISTOPHER SWALE, ROBERT WHITPAINE and ANN RELFE, relict of William Relfe decd., - in consideration - of an intended lease to the said John Ashbornham of thr manors of Ashbornham and Pemborne als Herst Megham and Willshams and divers lands - of the site or late site of the manor of Sidlesham and all messuages, buildings & c and the following lands containing 236 ac., viz

 

The Barnsfields, 42 ac.; the Gassen, 18 ac.; Shepards feild, 32 ac.; the Edberies, 49 ac.; Blackfurlong, 15 ac.; Jordans, 8 ac.; Inholmes, 14 ac; Bromehill, 8 ac.; the Connycrofts and the Fever Meades, 24 ac.; Blackfurlong marsh, 16 ac.; all in Sidlesham in the tenure of Henry Beagley and sometime were parcel of the farm and demesne lands of the manor of Sidlesham, which said manor and premises were granted by Letters Patent dated 30 May, 13 Eliz. to Sir Moyle Finch then of Estwell, co. Kent, knt., and John Awdley of Totteridge, co. Hereford, gent., in trust for Sir Thomas Hennage, Knt., vice-chamberlain of the Queen, who sold to George Greene senr. of Sidlesham, yeoman, and George Greene his son and heir; George Greene junr. sold to John Cowley then of the said City (sic) citizen and alderman, and William Cowley his son and the said William Cowley sold to John Ashbornham

 

To hold until Ann Relfe, daughter of the said Willial Relfe, should attain 16 years, in trust and for the benefit of the said Ann Relfe party to the deed. Proviso for defeazance as therein stated
