Description:

To be buried in the church of Bexhill beside his wife. Gifts to the poor of Bexhill and Northiam. Gifts to Ingram Edwards, Kinsman; George Hartley, godson; Alice Knight, servant; John Dubbing, servant (under age); George Motkyn, godson; Jane Pilcher, neighbour's daughter, "my wive's fure cassocke and her cotton peticote". To James Webb, neighbour, "my ledern dubblet and my Ashe cullour Breaches". To Thomas Duncke of Bexhill "my news shepe russett hose". For 2 sermons, one at his burial and the other the Sonday following, 13s. 4d. "If Mr Deane our vicar be not present to preache them then I would have them preached by Mr Goorelye, minister at Wartling"

Residue to Thomas Alfrey of Battle, gent., testator's uncle, who is appointed sole executor, he to keep and bring up testator's children

 

Freehold lands in Northiam and Beckley, co. Sussex, and Tenterden, co. Kent, to the said Thos. Alfrey until son George Edwards should attain 21
