By ELENA BAKER, widow, aged 60, that she was daughter and heir of Jamys A Nore of Warbulton, who was son and heir of Thomas A Nore of Penhest, who was son and heir of John a Nore and his wife Elizabeth Pounceys of Guestling. The said John was seised of lands called Crepe in Penherst. The said Thomas, who married Joan Stone, daughter and heir of Symon Stone of Warbylton, "was slayne with a bull with yokyng of hym" and on the death of John a Nore the said Elizabeth overlyeffed and held the lands for her life; during her life the said Thomas and James a Nore died. After the death of Elizabeth the said Eleyne sold the lands called the Crepe to John Asheburnham, gent. deceased Made in the presence of:- (signatures) Thomas, Abbot of Robertsbridge, Walter Hendle, Nycholas Tusten, Richard Sharpe, William Roberthe, William Frende of Tyseherst, Symon Marten |
