By DREW BARRANTYNE of Horsted Kaynes, co. Sussex, esq., lord of the manor of Cattysfeld, to STEPHEN BOORDE of Lyndfeld, co. Sussex, yeoman, and THOMAS BOORDE his son - for 20 marks - of lands, tenements &c. called the Creepe in Cattisfeld, containing 50 ac., which were held of the manor of Cattysfeld by copy of court roll by Simon Marten deceased and which had lately come to the said Drew by forfeiture by the said Simon for cutting down trees, viz. oaks and beeches growing on the said lands contrary to the custom of the said manor by the verdict of the homage, whereby the said Drew Barrantyne was seised in his demesne as of fee in the said lands &c. To hold to the said Stephen and Thomas in fee farm for ever. Rent by way of fee farm, 4s. 8d. and doing suit at the court at Cattesfeld once a year Also appointment of Richard Warde of Horstedkaynes, yeoman, as attorney to give seisin.
