Essex, gent., with consent of THOMAS ALFRAY of Catesfeild, gent., and KATHERINE his wife and NATHANIEL ALFRAY of London, coteseller, to THOMAS BLACKALL of the Inner Temple, gent., of a Mortgage dated 19 June, 1678 by Thomas Jordan of Charlewood, co. Surrey, gent., and George Luxford of Nendfeild, gent., of the 1st part, the said Thos. Alfray, Katherine his wife and Nathaniel Alfray of the 2nd part and the said Stephen Hams and Benjamin Finch of the 3rd part, of all that messuage or manor house called Potmans in the occupation of the said Thos. Alfray and all buildings, orchards &c. and the watermill in the occupation of Richard Keyes and the Decoy pond, with all water and other appurtenances. And 240 ac. of land called the Reedwood, Millers, Southwood, Pypercroft, Southwood croft, Reedwood wish, Potmans, Great Wood well, Little wood well, Gilletts, Battisfreed als Batisreed, Mawsons, Tiltones wish, Clements, Highfeild, the Quarns, Francis land, Francis coppice
