The donor was agent to the Sheffield Park estate from 1 August 1948 until 31 March 1952. During that period he lived at the agent's house at Home Farm Fletching, where the estate office was also situated. Two years later he returned to Home Farm as tenant of the Sackville-West Knole estate which had bought the property, with other parts of the Sheffield estate, in 1952; with this activity are to be associated the documents listed as AMS5646/1/1-12 He also served as surveyor to the Ouse Catchment Board and the Newhaven and Ouse Navigation, and it is from that employment that the records listed as AMS5646/2/1-7 derive As a local resident, the donor took part in the production of the Fletching Millennium Map, listed as AMS5646/3/1 |
