Served in Afghanistan, 1878-1879. Served in the 2nd Battalion, the East Surrey Regiment, following the amalgamation in 1881. Took part in the Suakin operations, 1885. Commanded the Battalion, 1887-1891. Appointed to command 31st Regimental District at Kingston, 1891. Died, 1897.
