Title: DEANCOURT HALL stewards' accounts and vouchers
Description:

Paper accounts, headed 'George Smith's Account to Francis Popham', 1775, and '... to Mrs. Popham', 1780, together with vouchers and several letters concerning the submission of the accounts.

 

Receipts. Rental giving: (i) names of tenants, yearly rent due, land tax allowed, sea-charge and drainage tax paid and allowed, and arrears; and (ii) quit rents due to the manor of Deancourt Hall, with names of freeholders and copyholders, yearly rent due, and arrears.

 

Disbursements. Taxes and allowances for sea-bank repairs, out-rents, house repairs, and incidental payments including court expenses, attendance on the Commissioners of Sewers, and postage.
