Account book, including rentals, inscribed 'Littlecott Ledger'.

 

Giving: (i) 'Littlecott Rents', in tabular form, showing names of tenants in alphabetical order, brief description of properties, acreage, terms and dates of expiry of leases, arrears due from previous half-year, half-year's rent due, total due, land tax allowed, amounts received and remaining; (ii) 'Littlecott Minor Rents', in tabular form, showing names of tenants arranged alphabetically under heads of Ramsbury, Chilton, Soley, Hugditch, Charnham Street, Brick-kiln, Stangrove Hill, Hopgrass Marsh, Picket Field, Oakhill, and Monkton, and giving brief description of properties, arrears due from previous year, total due, disbursements, amounts received and remaining; (iii) Receipts, being total sums from rents, and casual receipts from sale of timber, etc.; (iv) Disbursements, with one column showing monthly totals of expenditure, and another the yearly expenditure including payments to bank or to General Popham; and (v) Ledger Expenditure Account, under heads of (a) Poor, Church and Way Rates, (b) General Popham--personal and bank, (c) Tithe, Taxes and Rents, (d) [No title]--mainly audit expenses, (e) Labourers' Wages and Wood Work, (f) Stock and Miscellaneous, (g) Extra Labour and Water Work, (h) Private, (j) Weirs, Bridges and Fences, (k) House and Cottage Repairs--general, and (l) Various Farms--building maintenance.
