Volume inscribed 'An Admeasurement and Valuation of Timber on the Manors of Pensford Publow & Wollard, Compton Dando, Houndstreet, Chellwood, Farmbury, & Marksbury, belonging to Fra. Popham Esq.', apparently prepared circa 1775.

 

Giving, in tabular form, the 'number on the trees', type of tree ('MO', 'PO', etc., for 'maiden oak', 'pollard oak', etc.), length in feet, girth in inches, 'content' (length x girth), and an occasional note of the names of tenants, for oaks, ash, and elms, in order of the manors named, but not including the value.
