The bulk of the earlier deposit (C/813), comprising DD/GLC 3-27, consists of the correspondence and papers accumulated by a Dursley (co.Gloucester) solicitor,

 

These formed part of a solicitor's collection [presumably a latter day representative] deposited at the City Library. The remaining documents seem to have no relation with each other or with the Gardiner documents. C/1024 reached the City Library before 1939 among deeds marked as from 'Stephens, Brighton'
