Draft of the will of Richard Urwick Recitation of lease and release of 1791.

 

1. Richard Urwick, then of Walton, Old Radnor

 

2. Richard Urwick the younger, his eldest son.

 

3. St.George Roberts & ? Dunne, esq.

 

5. Wm Davies & John Davies of Brompton, gents.

 

6. John Davies of Marrington.

 

By this all the capital messuage in Walton in Old Radnor in the possession of Richard Urwick, and a messuage formerly in the occupation of Thos. Beaumont were limited to the uses of W.Davies and J. Davies for 500 years for raising a sum of money as Richard Urwick should direct, as long as it should not exceed £1200.

 

Recitation of release by which a messuage in Churchstoke called the Aldras in holding of John Hindley, & another messuage in his holding were limited to W.Davies and J.Davies for 600 years in trust for raising a like sum of £1100 He now directs by this his last will, William Davies & John Davies to raise these sums, and disposes of them as follows:-

 

Out of the £1200, to his son Samuel Urwick, £250, to his son Robert £250, to his son Benjamin £250, to his daughter Mary £150, to his son Richard £300, to be paid 12 months after his death.

 

Out of the £1100, to his son Samuel £250, to his son Robert £250, to his son Benjamin £250, to his daughter Mary £250, to his dearly loved wife Sarah £100, to be paid 12 months after his death.

 

To his wife the whole of his plate, linen, household goods and furniture for her sole use.

 

To his son Samuel all his messuage & lands called Llancowed in Ke...(?) Montgom.

 

The £300 given to his son Richard is in trust to pay his funeral debts and expenses.

 

To his eldest son Richard the residue of his estate.

 

He appoints his son Richard Urwick and his son Edward Urwick joint executors.

 

If the £300 is not sufficient, to pay his debts & funeral expenses, the residue to be raised proportionably from the shares of the other legatees.
