Letter from Theophilus Leigh Balliol

 

To (Sir John Dolben ?)

 

Conc. Fidejussors (sureties) & cautions, for men with name still on books.

 

Master recommends new decree whereby it should be necessary that "All Commoners, having a name in our Book, should have proper caution money remaining in the Bursar's hands".

 

Fellows were unwilling to agree to this but were agreeable to abolition of Fidejussors (sureties).
