Administrative / biographical background: |
W. D. Everington owned Dillington Farm, near East Dereham, 1863-1877/8. From 1878 until his death in 1907 he farmed the Lodge Farm, Castleacre, on the Leicester Estate. His son W. Everington farmed as a tenant at Weasenham 1886-95 and at Manor Farm, Newton-by-Castleacre from 1895. On his father's death he took over Lodge Farm and in 1911 he also became tenant of Hill Farm, Great Dunham. He purchased the latter in 1919 and gave up the Newton farm. His son W. D. Everington farmed at Lodge Farm until 1973 and at Hill Farm until 1982. |
