George Gladden is listed as a farmer at Ingham in the 1875 county Directory but the earliest records here begin in 1882. He died on 26th October 1889, his executors and devisees being his wife Elizabeth Ann Gladden and his son George Robert Gladden. In the 1900 Directory George Robert Gladden is described as miller and farmer of Mill House, Ingham while Mrs. George Gladden is listed as farmer at The Grove Farm, Ingham. Weekly labour account books survive for both these farms and also for Eastfield Farm, Hickling (for the period 1895-1898 only).
