Catalogue description Lease and Release (with Assignment of Term).

Whereby, having recited:- firstly, the 1778 mortgage rehearsed in PA 353/1/10; secondly, an endorsement on that deed (10th. July, 1780) whereby J. Brockhurst acknowledged receipt of £212/8/- comprising all moneys outstanding; thirdly, a lease and release (by way of mortgage, dated 23rd.-24th. Sept., 1781) whereby, in consideration of the paid-off principal and interest, of 5/- from Edward Inge jun. (in 1783 described as of Coventry, gent.), and of £100 paid by Inge to A. Holmes, J. Brockhurst assigned to Inge the premises (redeemable on 24th. Mar., [1782]; fourthly, A. Holmes' devising the premises as in PA 353/1/9; fifthly, default upon repayment of the 1781 mortgage; sixthly, the subsequent payment of that transaction's interest; seventhly, the agreement of William Peart' (of Coventry, gent.) with A. Holmes for purchase of the equity of redemption: therefore, in consideration of £100 (as principal, paid to Inge by Peart at the request of Joseph Gibbs (of Warw., surgeon) and Mary his wife (formerly Mary Proctor, spinster, daughter of Ann Holmes (of Coventry, later of Warw., widow, deceased) by John Proctor (her former husband, deceased))) and of £92/3/- (as residue of the purchase-money, paid to J. Gibbs by Peart), Inge and the Gibbses convey to Peart the Fleet St. premises (as in PA 353/1/3, Basnett's tenement now being occupied by Thomas Huckel, Gilbert's by Hugh Jones) held by Joseph Rice, Nathaniel Bromwell and Thomas Goode: in consideration of 5/- T. Lawson (described as in PA 353/1/7), at the appointment of the Gibbses and by Peart's nomination, assigns the term to Joseph Craner (of Coventry, gent.).
