Recording of interview by Charles Parker of Harry Cox (HC) of Norfolk (b.1885) talking about and singing traditional songs and playing the fiddle

Track 2 Duration (min/sec): 2.51 Description of track: HC talks about modern songs and believes they do not have lasting meaning or longevity; he would like to write new songs in the old tradition and believes it is important to keep the old songs alive

 

Track 3 Duration (min/sec): 3.38 Description of track: talks about the meaning of the old songs and performing; describes that when singing a song his mind is clear and agrees it would be difficult to perform for an audience who was not listening; advises young boys who are interested in the old songs to persevere learning them although does not believe the interest is there among the younger generation
