Recording of interview by Charles Parker of Harry Cox (HC) of Norfolk (b.1885) talking about and singing Sankey hymns and playing the fiddle and of Sam Larner (SL) of Winterton, Norfolk (born c.1875) singing Sankey hymns.

 

[Ira D. Sankey of Pennsylavania joined Dwight Lyman Moody, a Chicago preacher and his evangelistic team, in 1870 and the two men brought the evangelistic revival to America and the British Isles. The music and hymns of Sankey became renowned and are still sung in churches today].
