Handbill for "Captain Peacock's Refuge Buoy Beacon".

 

Description, copies of testimonials and views showing a two-thirds view of the Buoy - Beacon from the bow part, an enlarged view of the Bell, a three-quarter view of the Buoy - Beacon from the after part and a general view of the Buoy - Beacon in the water.

 

M.S. note. "Some of these refuge Buoy - beacons was placed by order of the Admiralty ... at Spithead in 1854 ... as I have no patent for the invention they are now manufactured ... by anybody ... but I got nothing. Starcross 4.10.74. G.P.".
