Founded by a Trust Deed on 26 September 1859, its aim was to distribute funds to aged, sick and infirm residents of Tottenham with preference to poor widows for assisting in the payment of rent. However, the fund became distributed to residents of the Josiah Forster almshouses. The Mary Overand Charity was amalgamated into the FWA at the same time as the Josiah Forster's Trust in April 1992, as they shared the same trustees. |
