Description:

1. Francis Merrett of London, gent, and wife Anne (daughter of Solomon Smith late of St Katherine by the Tower, esq. deceased and widow of Richard Pitt of the Liberty of the Tower, gunfounder) Anne Pitt, Elizabeth Pitt and Lucretia Pitt of London spinsters, daughters and coheirs of Richard Pitt.

 

2. Daniel Farringdon of London, esq. and Gilbert Upton of London, merchant.

 

3. William Bradford, citizen and ironmonger of London and John Hoyle, citizen and clothworker of London.

 

Premises: sundry messuages, warehouses, yards, gardens, including tavern called the Gun, all situated on north side of Tower Ditch in par. St Peter ad Vincula (occupiers given) conveyed 10 Oct 1624 by Edward Ramsey, esq. and Robert Ramsey, gent. to Thomas Pitt, father of Richard Pitt also capital messuage called Besse Place with appurts. and lands in Perivale and Harrow (field names given) formerly lands of Oliver Drawster, formerly in occupation of John Needler and now in occupation of Robert Cromwell, William Page and Timothy Legingham; also two brick messuages in Blackfriars Precinc near Ludgate, where tavern called the Greyhound stood before the Fire of London; (1) conveys all premises to (2) so tha (3) can prosecute a Writ of Entry against (2) and a Common Recovery suffered to the intent that (3) shall stand seize of premises, the Gun on Tower Hill and Besse Place and all lands in Perivale, Harrow and Alperton to use of Anne Merrett and a third share each of all other premises and of reversion of Anne Merrett's estates to Anne Pitt, Elizabeth Pitt and Lucretia Pitt.
