Arthur Story, Tudhoe Academy, nr. Rushyford Inn, Durham, to FFT Bosworth Hall

 

Has room for FFT's son as a pupil. He has 25 pupils from the ages of 8 - 12, generally the sons of Catholic gentlemen or very reputable merchants. They have a diet of the best butchers meat, milk at breakfast and supper. Luncheon at 4pm of bread and butter. Snacks between meals are allowed on application to the housekeeper. The playground is large and dry, the situation healthy and the beds good. Terms are 26 gns p.a. board and teaching reading, writing, spelling and arithmetic, with English grammar languages are taught. Music, dancing and broadsword exercises cost extra.
