Description:

Charles Browne-Mostyn, Kiddington, Oxon, to FFT, Cheltenham

Asking how Mrs. Turvile is and if they are to return to Bosworth. Inviting the family to Kiddington. Much excitement in Oxon about the Irish petition, there being a county meeting to petition Parliament against it. The majority was small, not great as reported in the papers. Says that if Sir J. Throckmorton, Mr. Fermor and Mr. Stonor had attended and sent some of their freeholders the result would have been different and even the University would have been affected. Lord Guilford, Dr. Tatham and Col. Sheldon voted "on our side" [the losing one].
